We have finished our first full week's cruise for this season, and it has been good! Today, I'm in Anchorage for a few hours using the Free Internet at Starbucks. This has been a week of renewing relationships and friendships with staff on the ship, as well as making new friends with staff and passengers. It's always a challenge at the beginning of the season to adjust schedule, etc., but it's working out.
We had rain in Ketchikan (what a surprise); sunshine in Juneau; and chilly (unusual) in Skagway. Glacier Bay was wonderful, and last night at College Fjord couldn't have been better. I really thought it would be a "hard sell" when we started in because everything was shrouded in fog. BUT, the fog lifted as we approached the glaciers; snow was all the way to the water, and it was extremely emotional AND spiritual. I don't remember when I've enjoyed it more!
I trust all of you are having a good spring and summer, and I look forward to hearing from each of you. Please post any Alaska pictures you have! Below are just a few from this first week.
