It was great to meet you recently on the Coral Princess. We just finished Cruise #18 (our last) for this season. Today, I am home after 132 days at sea! On my last Monday in Whittier, I drove to Anchorage, and it was just marvelous -- just a touch of fall, and we could actually see Mt. McKinley from 100 miles away.
So, for 2012, we've put Alaska to rest, but what a great season it was! We had our LAST visit to Hubbard Glacier and Glacier Bay. The picture to the right is a rare shot of Brady Glacier as you exit Glacier Bay toward the Gulf of Alska.
In Ketchikan for our last visit, the sun was shining, AND humpback whales were bubble netting beside the ship as we entered Tongass Narrows! Just a beautiful day and a great last port for the 2012 season. Yesterday, we were in Vancouver getting ready to head to LA where I will disembark on Thursday.
Alaska is such a spectacular place to visit! I trust that you and your family had a wonderful visit, and hopefully, you will return again one day.Alaskathy.com is a great site to meet other people who love Alaska or who are interested in visiting. It's also a good spot to share Alaska photos and experiences. Personally, I've uploaded a TON of pictures and video clips, and now you can do the same on your page.
Another really neat thing is to upload a profile picture of yoursef--and in Alaska if possible. All you need to do is hover your mouse over the sllhouette at the left and then follow the simple prompts.
Thanks again for joining the site, and I hope you vist it often as well as direct other people to it. If there is ever anything I can do for you or your friends regarding Alaska, please feel free to contact me and I'll do my best to help.
I've been on the ship since May 9, so I'm ready to go home. It won't be for long, though, because my husband and I begin lecturing together in the Med on Oct. 27. We'll be on the Crown Princess for 12 days, and then switch to the Pacific Princess for 6 weeks!
